Braylon Mannan Picks Up First Offer

Following a breakout spring playing with The Academy, Braylon Mannan received his first scholarship offer. Earlier this week, the 6’8” 2025 forward of Belleville High School (MI) was offered by Wayne State, a division two program in Detroit.

“It feels great to pick up the first offer,” Mannan said about receiving the Wayne State offer. “It feels like a confidence booster in my game, but it also humbles me and shows me how much I’ve accomplished over the past few years.”

When talking about Wayne State, he said “I like the campus and coaching staff and how they are based as a community and a team. They seem very welcoming, and I like that in a team.”

With all the tools of Mannan and his play on the court, his recruitment stock has continued to build during the spring with his play with The Academy. “I feel like this spring was very good, I felt a great chemistry with the team after already playing a season with them before and other ways we have connected outside of basketball. I feel like Coach Jordan really welcomed me into the team and so did my teammates and I was able to click with their personalities pretty quick last season.”

As well to the Wayne State offer, the rising senior is also drawing interest from programs both at the division one and two levels. Amongst them are Central Michigan, Ferris State, Grand Valley State, Northern Michigan, Northwood, Saginaw Valley State, and Toledo. He is planning on taking a visit to Northern Michigan this summer as well as ones to Ferris State and Wayne State soon.
