Basketball across the country is starting to get into high gear and the Generation Next Tip-Off basketball tournament wrapped up this past weekend with a number of strong performances by middle school talent on the hardwood and Jeremiah Davis committed to the Big East.  That and more in today’s news and notes…

NEW JULY “LIVE” TOURNAMENT
The desert in Las Vegas, Nevada promises to be as hot as ever next July during the second half of the “live” evaluation period and NY2LASPORTS.COM will be front and center with THE FINAL CHAPTER, a new tournament added to our family of events for next year.  The tournament will be a certified event for Division 1 college coaches and will tip off July 22-26, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.  It is open to 15u-17u teams with multi-team discounts available for programs bringing more than one team to the event.  A loaded field of teams from across the country is already confirmed to be in attendance for what promises to be another loaded field of talent for college coaches to check out during the crucial July “live” evaluation period.  For more information on this sizzling event in Las Vegas next summer CLICK HERE

FUTURES CAMP
The 2011 NY2LASPORTS.COM Futures Camp will take place June 25-26, 2011 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The camp is open to rising sophomores and juniors (i.e. 2013-2014 prospects) and last year it featured some top national prospects including, but not limited to, the likes of Collin Hartman, Deonte Burton, Duane Wilson Jr., etc.  For more information on next year’s camp CLICK HERE

GENERATION NEXT TIP-OFF RESULTS

COMMITMENTS
A slow weekend of activity didn’t stop the likes of UW-Green Bay and Cincinnati from landing commitments.

Cincinnati struck on the trail over the weekend with a commitment from 2011 G Jeremiah Davis of Huntington Prep (WV).  Davis is originally from Indiana and played with the Indiana Elite during the grassroots travel season.

UW-Green Bay struck on the trail as well this past weekend as 2011 SG Aaron Armstead of Chicago Hales Franciscan (IL) committed to UWGB.  Armstead played with the Indiana Elite as well during the grassroots travel season.

ADDITIONAL EVENT INFORMATION
Later this month the fourth annual NY2LA Sports Classic will tip off November 26-27, 2010 with boys and girls high school games taking place throughout the greater Milwaukee area.  Headlined by a matchup that will feature Louisville bound McDonald’s All-American candidate 2011 SG Wayne Blackshear and Chicago Morgan Park against Iowa State bound 2011 SF Elgin Cook and Milwaukee Hamilton, the annual high school event features a loaded group of boys and girls high school teams from the state of Wisconsin.  For more information on this year’s event CLICK HERE

A new holiday tournament for middle school prospects was announced last week as the 2011 Holiday Hoopfest will tip off January 1-2, 2011 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  The inaugural tournament will feature separate elite and competitive divisions for 3rd-8th grade boys and girls.  The tournament will offer up a 3 game guarantee built around pool play and single elimination playoffs with customized individual trophies/medals and t-shirts awarded to all first and 2nd place teams in each division.  The tournament will offer up multi-team discounts as well.  It is open to grassroots travel teams, school feeder programs/teams, etc.  For more information on this upcoming event CLICK HERE

One tournament that needs no introduction is the annual Swish & Dish Spring Warm-Up, which has grown into one of the true measuring sticks for tournaments during the spring and summer.  Next year’s event will tip off April 1-3, 2011 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with divisions for boys 9u-17u teams.  This tournament annually draws many of the top teams and prospects in the country at every level and next year’s is already set to feature a ridiculously loaded field once again with teams from 12 states already confirmed to attend along with a laundry list of top 100 prospects up and down the classes as well.  For more information on the 2011 Swish & Dish Spring Warm-Up CLICK HERE.

NEXT LEVEL INVITATIONAL AND SUMMER JAM BOTH RE-CERTIFIED FOR 2011
We are very pleased to announce that Next Level Invitational and Summer Jam basketball tournaments will once again be certified for Division 1 college coaches in 2011 as the NCAA has approved both of those events for certification in 2011 once again.  The Next Level Invitational will be held July 6-9, 2011 and the Summer Jam July 12-15, 20111in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  To find out more about each of these events go their respective pages on the website by clicking on the logo at top of our home page HERE

GENERATION NEXT ALL-STAR CAMP
