After covering several must see games to start off the high school season, there were plenty more to highlight. With all the talent across the Midwest, look for a star studded high school hoops season with plenty of star studded games.

Marshall vs. Bolingbrook

November 23rd - Turkey Day Tipoff Classic

After winning the Illinois 1A state championship last season, Marshall will open up this season with a big test on day one of games facing off against powerhouse Bolingbrook. Marshall returns much of the talent for their state title team including 2028 point guard DJ Laye who had 30 points in the state title game. Facing off against him for Bolingbrook will be guard Brady Pettigrew, a top 15 player nationally in the 2028 class. Much more than just a headline matchup the game also features Ed Humes and Rayvon Myles of Marshall up against Nate Woods, Isaiah Rogers, Layton Jones, and others for Bolingbrook.

Wisconsin Lutheran vs. Freedom

December 5th - NY2LA Sports Classic

One of a few headlining matchups from the loaded NY2LA Sports Classic. This game will feature arguably the top two players in Wisconsin’s senior class with 6’10” Duke commit Kager Knueppel of Wisconsin Lutheran facing off against his Team Herro teammate in 6’8” Iowa State commit Donovan Davis for Freedom. The Knueppel versus Davis matchup could be the best player matchup of the entire season in all of Wisconsin.

Benet Academy vs. Verona

December 18th - 60Eight Tournament

It’s Illinois versus Wisconsin in one of the semifinals games of the 608Eight tournament. While Benet lost plenty of talent from last year's state runner-up team including Colin Stack and Jayden Wright, they still have plenty on this year’s roster. This is headlined by Yale commit Ed Stasys, arguably the top player in Illinois’s 2027 class. Benet also has plenty of depth with Perry Tchiegne, Blair Fagbemi, Cormac Hanus, Tyler Cibulka, and others. Verona will match this with a very talented backcourt including NIU commit Will Stremlow and junior Terrin Jackson.

West Allis Central vs. Wauwatosa West

December 5th - NY2LA Sports Classic

While each of these teams lost plenty of talent from last year, there is still plenty of intrigue to make it a must see matchup. Each side has some division one caliber recruits in addition to great depth. West Allis Central has one of the top senior duo backcourts in the state with Green Bay commit Max Jones alongside Isaiah Fox who has multiple division one offers. Wauwatosa West counters with a talented backcourt duo of their own with Bear Collins, one of the top guards in Wisconsin’s 2029 class, plus Max Gogin in addition to fast rising 6'6" forward Kason Mangum.
