Over the past couple of months, McKhale Wesley has continued to see his recruitment build with a wide array of interest. This has included the 6’3” senior guard of Shorewood High School (WI) and Team Hali taking a pair of visits over the past few weeks.
In his junior season, Wesley averaged 17.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 assists per game for Shorewood to earn second team all-conference honors. More recently this fall, he was named a top standout at the NY2LA Junior Senior Showcase in addition to being named the eight best 2027 prospect at the event. “I'm a versatile player,” the senior said when first describing his own game. I'm a 6’3” point guard, combo guard with some length. I have a quick first step. I can shoot it well from three from catch and shoot and off the dribble, good ball handler, athletic finisher, good defender, I can find my teammates. I'm a coach on the floor as well.”
During this fall, Wesley has seen some major developments with his recruitment. This included him receiving his first collegiate offer back in early October coming from Sauk Valley Community College. This offer came following a visit to the Illinois school. “My visit to Sauk Valley was pretty cool, the campus is nice. I got to workout with Coach Sharp after the team practice. We worked on shooting and ball handling most of the time,” Wesley said.
In addition to visiting Sauk Valley, Wesley also took a visit to another Illinois school in Triton College which took place this past weekend. “When I got to Triton I noticed the campus is really big, probably the biggest juco that I’ve seen. When I walked in the doors I met Head Coach Rob Holloway, he showed me how he runs practices and let me hop in for a couple of reps. After practice ended Coach Holloway worked me out. We worked on different scenarios of catch and shoot and shooting off the dribble. Overall the visit was solid.” Next up for Wesley he will also be visiting Kankakee Community College.
