Over the past year, Kartier Calvert emerged as one of the top players and prospects in Wisconsin’s 2029 class. With this, it included the 6’7” wing forward of Team Herro and Catholic Memorial High School getting an early start with his recruitment.

While he was just starting his sophomore year, Calvert already picked up his first division one offer. This came from Alabama A&M of the SWAC. “Receiving my first offer felt great,” Calvert said about picking up his offer from Alabama A&M. “It was rewarding to see my hard work starting to pay off, and it motivates me to keep working and see how far I can go.”

Early in his high school career, Calvert made a big splash. In just his freshman season, the forward averaged 10.8 points per game for Catholic Memorial. His standout play continued into the grassroots season with Team Herro. “My season with Team Herro was a great experience. I got to compete against good players, improve my game, and learn a lot. It helped me get better as a player and prepare for my high school season,” Calvert said.

Over the past year, Calvert has shown a highly intriguing blend of size, skills, and athleticism to be on division one coaches radars. As well as standing at 6’7”, the sophomore has an elevated offensive game too. Calvert has shown he can be a knockdown outside shooter but also handle the ball as well to use his strength and aggressiveness to score it around the paint.

“My goals are to win games, help my team make a deep playoff run, and keep improving individually. I also want to become a better leader and show my versatility as a player,” Calvert is looking to accomplish in his upcoming sophomore season.
