The commitment season for the top prospects in Wisconsin’s 2027 class has continued. Another of the state's top ten seniors has announced their college commitment. The most recent one came from Max Jones, a 6’4” wing guard of West Allis Central High School.

Jones will be staying in-state with his commitment picking UW-Green Bay and head coach Doug Gottlieb. The commitment comes after the Phoenix had offered him back in June of last year. They were the first program to extend an offer to Jones. He chose Green Bay over Alabama A&M, Eastern Illinois, Milwaukee, Northern Iowa, Toledo, who had all also offered him.

In his junior season, Jones was one of the most productive players in all of Wisconsin. The guard averaged 20.4 points while shooting 52.5% from the field in addition to 6.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. With this, he earned honorable mention all-state honors from the WBCA as well to first team all-conference honors in the Woodlands Conference.

Jones will bring a unique trend of translatable tools to Green Bay. As well as having some height in the backcourt while standing at 6’4”, he is also a very physically strong guard. Even dating back to his middle school days, he has been able to use his physicality to be an overpowering force on both ends including a powerful attacking guard. His skills have continued to grow as he has developed into a more well-rounded player with a three level scoring ability. This includes continued growth as a shooter which included hitting 37.2% of his threes in his junior season.

Jones marks the second commitment in Green Bay’s 2027 recruitment class. He joins LeMar Shir in the class, a 6’3” guard out of Canada.
