Over the weekend, Missouri and head coach Dennis Gates landed a commitment from one of the nation's top available guards in the 2027 class. This came from Devin Cleveland, a 6’3” combo guard of La Lumiere and Brad Beal Elite. Cleveland had transferred to La Lumiere last year for his junior season after initially attending Kenwood in Chicago.
Cleveland announced his commitment live Friday evening. He selected the Tigers over his other finalists of Michigan and TCU. Before previously trimming his list down to three, he had also been offered by Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, DePaul, Illinois, Marquette, Providence, among others. Missouri had offered back in May of this year.
The addition of Cleveland marks a major addition for Missouri's 2027 recruiting class. He is regarded as a consensus top thirty five player nationally in the class. He is ranked as high as twenty-ninth by ESPN. This is in addition to thirtieth by 247 Sports and thirty-second by Rivals.
Cleveland marks the third commitment for the Tigers 2027 recruiting class to date. He joins Scottie Adkinson, a 6’3” guard of Webster Grove High School (MO) and Cameron Barnes, a 6’8” power forward of Lee’s Summit West (MO). All three are four star recruits as well as top one hundred nationally ranked players. The trio gives Gates and staff one of the top five 2027 classes in the entire nation currently.
