Wisconsin Lutheran College has picked up an in-state commitment for its 2027 recruiting class. This came from Blake Baisch, a point guard of Arrowhead High School and Pro Lane.

“WLC just felt like the right place,” Basich first said about his decision to select Wisconsin Lutheran. He added in “I wanted to be a part of a proven, winning program, which WLC has been. The coaching staff was great, Coach A (Aanonsen) and Coach Bruggink always made me feel welcomed, and I could tell they wanted me to be a part of the program. Another aspect was the players. I know a decent amount of the guys already, and it seemed like they wanted me there just as much as the coaches.” As part of their recent program success, they advanced to the sweet 16 of the division three NCAA tournament two seasons ago in a 27-4 season. “It felt obvious that I belong at WLC.”

The commitment comes after Basich had recently taken a visit to the nearby Milwaukee campus. “It was amazing. Everything checked a box. Whether it was the basketball side, educational side, or living side. It seemed like I’d be leaving my home, and joining another family there. I also went back to watch a practice, and it further solidified my decision. The staff runs a great ship, and can’t wait to join it.”

When asked about his future about fitting in with the Warriors, Basich said “I see myself fitting in the same way I do at Arrowhead. I’ll be surrounded with talented guys, so playing like a true point guard and setting up my teammates with easy looks. Doing all the little things to help win.” He is coming off a junior season with Arrowhead in which he averaged 12.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 7.1 assists per game.
