While the 2031 class has not even reached high school yet, this class in Wisconsin has already shown plenty of talent. One of these early standouts is Journey Page, a 6’4” forward.
Still a year out from high school, Page has already been a standout on the hardwood over the past few years. This has been with the Chapman Basketball Academy program who he has been playing with since the second grade. During this time, he has been a part of some extremely dominant Chapman Basketball Academy teams that have captured several GNBA tournament championships over the past few years.
Page has been a standout for a few years already but his game has really taken great strides more recently as he nears the high school level. This was really shown recently when he was named MVP at the NY2LA Generation Next All-Star Camp earlier this month. This was in addition to being named the second best prospect for the camp's 2031 class. Throughout this camp he displayed a highly versatile game. Page already has good size at his age while standing at 6’4” with good strength but also a well-rounded skill set. Not only did he use his great physical tools to score the ball very effectively around the paint, including posting up, but also some perimeter skills to be one of the camp's top scorers. This included him hitting shots both in the mid-range and three as well as being able to create off the dribble. During the camp, he also showed his defensive versatility moving well at his size being able to match up with anyone on the floor effectively.
“I’m a forward that is capable of making shots beyond from three and I am really good at getting downhill,” Page said when describing his own game. A couple aspects of his game the forward is looking to improve upon is continuing to work on his shot as well as dribbling versus pressure. Both of these aspects have already shown great improvement over the past year as Page has greatly rounded out his game.
Next up for Page this winter he will be playing with the Homestead Jr. Highlanders in his eight grade season. As well, he will be playing some tournaments with Chapman Basketball Academy and on the winter Jr. EYBL with Mac Irvin Fire. As Page makes the move to the high school level in a year, he will definitely be a name to know.
