With all the talent across the three classes at this years NY2LA Generation Next All-Star Camp, one part of standouts in addition to the MVP’s was just not enough. Here is another group who all shined at this weekend's camp.
Vashion Bullock - 2031 - SF - Lincoln - Blaze
Bullock is a strongly built forward who was bullying defenders in each of his games. This included his play attacking the basket as well as on the glass. He was consistently going strong to the basket playing through contact as a straight line driver and finishing it very efficiently at the basket. With his combination of size, aggressive style of play, and strong build, he rebounded everything around him.
Anthony Curro - 2033 - PG
Curro got it done on both ends of the floor throughout the camp. This included being a highly active defender. Whether it was playing tough on ball defense or often getting into the passing lanes for several steals and deflections, the guard was often making plays defensively. On the offensive side Curro moves well with the ball in his hands often getting all the way to the basket and finishing it but can also shoot the three.
Alijah Moultry - 2032 - PG - Garden Homes - Team Hali
As just a seventh grader, Moultry showed very good playmaking ability. He is a very shifty point guard along with burst of quickness that was consistently breaking down defenders and getting deep into the paint. Not only did he finish it well all around the paint over and around size but also passed it well on the move. Moultry also used his speed as a tough on ball defender playing with good energy.
Zion Ogunsola - 2031 - SF - Sun Prairie West - Team Hali
Whether it was in the drills or in games, Ogunsola showed a lot of tools and made a great impact. He is a lengthy wing forward with some size already at 6’2” in addition to his athleticism and building skill set. This included his shot making as Ogunsola knocked down several jumpers off the dribble both in the mid-range and from three. He was also a standout defensively as he showed a very good ability to defend multiple positions extremely well with all his tools.
TJ Peterson - 2032 - PG - Wauwatosa West - Team Herro
Peterson was a standout with his defense, scoring, and distributing to be one of the most impactful players and earn his spot on this list. He is a very unselfish player who sees the floor well and was always looking to create for his teammates. Peterson moves very well with the ball, beating defenders off the dribble to get into the paint and finish.
Jamaar Todd Jr. - 2032 - F/C - Aug Prep North - Team Herro
While just a seventh grader, Todd already has good physical tools standing at 6’3” with good length too. The post scored it strong down in the paint being able to finish through contact but was even more impactful on the defensive size. He was one of the top paint protectors of the camp while also being able to rebound in bunches.
Vinnie Williamson - 2031 - PG - MSL - Team Herro
For an eight grader, Williamson showed a high skill level throughout the camp. This was with both his ability to score and distribute the basketball excelling on the attack. He plays quick with the ball in his hands and showed a very good passing ability on the move. Williamson also showed his scoring ability being able to get all the way to the basket as well as pulling up in the mid-range. The point guard also made plenty of plays on the defensive side including being very active in the passing lanes.
