With many of the area's top players and recruits from the 2029 and 2030 classes at the Futures Camp, there was great competition for each of these picks. There were several other candidates who are tremendous players and had high level performances but these four below players truly had a special performance at the Futures Camp.

Marcus Bonilha - 2029 - SG - Whitefish Bay - DFTP Elite

While an under the radar player, Bonilha shined throughout the camp to be named MVP at the 2029 level of the camp with his breakout performance. He already has good size in the backcourt at 6’4”, has a well-rounded game and was one of the highest energy players of the entire camp too. Whether it was his aggressive straight line drives for multiple and one plays, rebounding on both ends at a high rate, hitting shots off the dribble, taking the ball the length of the court, making high energy plays, or tough on ball defense, there’s not much the sophomore didn’t do. With his great energy, he was just playing at another gear to his game.

Arroyo Edwards - 2030 - G/F - West Allis Central - Team Herro

As well as already being 6’6”, Edwards has great length in addition to an advanced skill set as well. This included great ability to create for himself off the dribble. He showed a good combination of handles and moves as a freshman with his size. All camp Edwards was beating defenders to get into the paint and finish in traffic with his great size. He also proved his shot making ability hitting both threes and mid-range jumpers off the dribble. Edwards was also one of the top defenders being able to match up with anyone on the floor and defend them at a high level. With his stellar two-way play, Edwards earned his MVP honors and has a bright future ahead of him.

Max McMullen - 2029 - PG - Brookfield East - Team Herro

Throughout each of his games during the camp, McMullen showcased his elite playmaking abilities with the ball to secure his MVP honors. He is incredibly elusive with his quickness paired along his handles and moves. His change of speeds and direction are unmatched. All camp he was continuing to beat quality defenders off the dribble to get into the paint where he finished it very well there too. He also showed great vision on the attack as well the ability to create his own shot. McMullen is one of the top 2029 point guards in the entire region and proved that throughout the entire camp with his high level scoring in addition to his ability to create for others.

Sheldon Yarbrough - 2030 - F - MAS - Power 5

While he is just entering the high school level, there are many aspects to like from Yarbrough that not many freshmen have. Not only does he already stand at 6’7” with some strength but is also a fluid athlete. More than just his physical tools, the forward was also a highly impactful player throughout each of his games with his active play and growing game. Whether it was in the half court or in transition, Yarbrough was consistently getting to the rim and finishing aggressively with many dunks. As well as being a lob threat, he also showed his ability to handle the ball himself and get to the basket. He was also one of the top defenders at the 2030 level as a legitimate paint protector who was also active on the perimeter defending the ball as well as getting in the passing lanes for many steals. With all the winning plays he made throughout the camp, he more than deserved his MVP honors.
