On Monday, a pair of the top prospects from Indiana’s 2027 class announced their commitments. These came from guards Jason Gardner Jr. and Harper Baker-Lands.

Gardner, a 6’1” point guard of Fishers High School and Indiana Elite, made his commitment to Auburn at his high school on Monday afternoon. This comes just a week after he took his official visit to the SEC school. He picked Auburn over his other finalists of DePaul, Florida, Indiana, and Stanford. He has also previously been offered by Iowa, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas, among others.

Auburn is landing one of the top point guards in the nation's 2027 class. He is ranked as high as 64th nationally according to Rivals. In addition to 67th from 247 Sports and 77th from ESPN. Gardner marks the first commitment in Auburn’s 2027 recruitment class.

Western Michigan was able to land the commitment of Baker-Lands, a 6’4” combo guard of Plainfield High School and the Indy Heat. The commitment comes right after the guard took his visit to the Kalamazoo campus over the weekend. He picked the Broncos over his other offers coming from Ball State, Belmont, Central Michigan, Illinois State, Miami (OH), Toledo, Wright State, and others. Baker-Lands marks the second commitment in the 2027 class for Western Michigan. He joins 6’5” wing forward Chris Sanders out of California in the class who recently committed earlier this month.
