After missing the key recruiting months of June and July due to an ankle injury, senior Nathan Freiheit is now back on the court and starting to see his recruitment build. This has included the first visit for the seven footer of PAC Elite and Buffalo Grove High School (IL).

The recent visit for Freiheit was to Rockford University. “It was pretty nice. It was my first visit so waiting for more to have something to compare it to but it was a nice introduction,” he said about the visit to the in-state school. In addition to Rockford University, he is also being recruited the most by UW-Eau Claire, UW-Platteville, and UW-Stevens Point. He is planning on visiting all three of the schools in the next month.

When asked about his game translating to the collegiate level, Freiheit stated “I think my length, versatility, and outside shooting will translate well . As a seven-foot stretch big, I can space the floor and give my team another shooting option while still providing size inside. I’m excited to keep developing and find a program where I can contribute.”

With his mix of physical tools as a seven footer, mobility, and outside shooting, Freiheit is an incredibly unique recruit. There are few players in the region as well as in the entire country in the 2027 class with this combination of tools. As he adds strength and his game continues to develop, he could be a force at the next level.

For his senior season with Buffalo Grove, Freieit is looking to help them win a regional and sectional championship. Paired alongside fellow post and Columbia commit Alex Sirbu, they should make a dominant post duo. To follow his senior season, he is also considering a post graduate year before moving on to college.
