Let’s keep the under the radar names coming with all the great talent in the Midwest. This issue features players in Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin.

Dalton Ahlensdorf - 2027 - SF - Racine Truth 

While he has flown under the radar, Ahlensdorf is one of the more athletic forwards in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. As well as being highly explosive, the senior is 6’5” with a highly impactful game. After averaging 10.8 points, 6 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.8 blocks in his juniors season for The Prairie School, he showed even more game over the spring and summer. He is a two-way standout who is able to play big inside on both ends as a strong finisher and shot blocker on the other end but has also shown a well-rounded game. 

Kendall Farmer - 2027 - G - MidPro Academy

While Farmer has started to see his recruitment pickup this month, he is still an under the radar player with all of his translatable tools and upside. His recent recruitment boost includes offers from Illinois Wesleyan and Westminster College. Farmer has a good blend of tools with his positional size at 6’3” in the backcourt, athleticism, and strength. This is in addition to his tough on ball defensive play. 

Eli Phillips - 2027 - SG - Mercury Elite

Phillips greatly improved throughout the spring and summer playing with Mercury Elite. He finished the grassroots season by being one of the better guards at the 17U level of the NY2LA Summer Jam tournament. The two-guard has been a standout with his scoring ability both as a consistent three point spot up shooter as well as a physical, aggressive driver. Look for Phillips to have a breakout senior season with Providence Catholic.

Noah VanTholen - 2028 - PG - Breakaway Basketball 

VanTholen is a player who could see his recruitment take off in the coming months. As well as his great positional size as a 6’4” point guard, the junior also has good length, athleticism, and scoring ability. VanTholen excels playing on the attack as a strong driver finishing around the basket in addition to his good mid-range pullup game. 

Dontez Williams - 2028 - PG - D Rice Elite

Williams took his game up a level over the summer and was a big reason why D Rice Elite won the NY2LA 16U Association Championship. He was a standout with both his on ball defensive play as well as running the point as a skilled playmaker who moves well with the ball in his hands but can also shoot the three.
