As Kayden Turner has continued to show he’s one of the top prospects in Illinois’ 2028, his recruitment has taken a major step this weekend. This came with the 6’5” guard of Peoria High School and the Illinois Wolves receiving his first division one offer.
The offer for Turner came from Northern Illinois. This came while he was taking a visit on Saturday to DeKalb for their football game. “My visit went great,” Turner said about his trip to Northern Illinois.
While Northern Illinois is the only offer so far for Turner, he also has several other division one programs recruiting him. This includes Valparaiso, Dartmouth, Illinois State, Yale, Belmont, and Southern Indiana. Already in this contact period, Turner has had Dartmouth come see him at his open gym and will have Belmont coming in this week. Next up for visits, the guard will be taking one on the 26th of this month to Miami (OH).
In his sophomore season, Turner earned special mention all-state honors while averaging 15 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists for Peoria. Then for the Illinois Wolves in the grassroots season, he helped them to 6th place on the 16U level of the UAA as their leading scorer.
