As we move into the fall, more and more commitments from the senior 2027 class are happening. A senior from Michigan making their commitment to a division one program recently was Wycell Davis.

The 6’4” wing guard of Detroit Catholic Central and 1of1 Detroit will be staying in-state with his commitment to Central Michigan. Davis selected the MAC school over his other offers coming from Eastern Michigan, Ferris State, and Saginaw Valley State. Central Michigan had offered him back in May of this year.

“I like the coaching staff a lot, the culture of the program as well,” Davis first said about the main things he likes about Central Michigan. He added, “I love the community and how everyone supports one another. The team seems to bond very well and I would love to be a part of that.”

The commitment comes after Davis took his official visit over the summer in July. “My official visit was great. Having an old teammate touring me around kinda made it feel like home. I love everything about Mount Pleasant and I can’t wait to get up there.”

In Davis, Western Michigan is landing one of the top guards in Michigan’s 2027 class. In his junior season he earned honorable mention all-state honors. “I see myself competing to make an immediate impact as a freshman,” he said about his future playing for the Chippewas. “Making the easy reads as a guard, while not trying to do much scoring wise but efficiently putting the ball in the rim.” Davis joins Markese Peoples in Central Michigan’s 2027 recruiting class, a point guard out of St. Laurence High School (IL).
