Over the past few months, more players in the 2028 class have started to see their recruitment get a start. One of these being Brock Brown, a 6’6” wing of MidPro Academy and Taylorville High School (IL).

The recruitment of Brown heated up in July with the wing receiving his first division one offer. This offer came from Northern Illinois. When asked if there was anything he liked about them, he keyed in on their new coaching staff. “I like how much they communicate with me and checking in on how I’m doing, especially coach Dev. I think Coach Mak is the right guy to turn the program around.” Brown will be taking a visit soon to the in-state school later this month on the 12th.

While Northern Illinois may be Brown’s only offer so far as he’s only starting his junior season, there have also been a few other division one programs showing interest. He has also been in touch with Miami (OH), Southeast Missouri State, and Toledo. This is in addition to having taken a visit to Northern Iowa previously.

“From my perspective, my shooting ability and ball handling have improved significantly over the past year,” Brown said when talking about the development of his game. During this time, he has turned into one of the top shooters in Illinois’ 2028 class. This is to go along with his positional size and versatility on both ends of the floor. With all these translatable tools, only look for his recruitment to build in the coming months.
