Following Milwaukee’s Elite Camp, they extended offers out to a few of the players in attendance. One of these being sophomore Max McMullen. Over the past year, McMullen has developed into one of the top players in the Midwest’s 2029 class while playing with Team Herro and Brookfield East High School (WI).

“It feels really good,” McMullen said about receiving this offer, which is his first. “I’ve worked for it for a long time, so seeing it finally happen was a great feeling. I’m just really grateful to Milwaukee for giving me the opportunity.” While Milwaukee is the first to extend an offer, he does have a few other programs who are showing interest in him. This includes Wisconsin, Marquette, Purdue, and Iowa State.

“Really good,” is how McMullen described his experience at the Milwaukee Elite Camp. “My goal was to display how high level of a point guard I am and also learn from the coaching staff as much as possible. It was also fun playing against a lot of local talent.” When asked if there was anything he liked about them, the point guard said “Yes, definitely. It’s close to home, which I like, and I really like the coaches and the way they play.”

Last year as a freshman, McMullen had a remarkable season as he averaged 17.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2 steals per game while shooting 51.2% from the field. He helped them advance all the way to the sectional finals. “I want to win as much as possible,” he said about his upcoming sophomore season. “Obviously, I want to make a deep run and win a state championship. For myself, I just want to get better in every area, especially as a point guard and a leader, and keep putting myself in a position to play at the highest level.”
