After previously receiving an offer from a NAIA program, the recruitment of Jayce Cook has now gone to another level. This was with the 6’2” senior guard of New Berlin West High School (WI) and 24UP getting his first division one offer.

Milwaukee became the first division one program to offer Cook. The Horizon League program extended the offer to the senior this past weekend. “Honestly, it feels great,” Cook said about getting the offer. “I’ve worked really hard for this, so having a division one program like Milwaukee recognize me and Coach Lundy believe in me means a lot. I’m really grateful for the opportunity and excited to continue working and developing.”

The Milwaukee offer comes after Cook recently attended their elite camp. “I really like the facilities, but even more than that, I’m impressed by how they operate and how they run their program. I’ve always enjoyed being around the coaches and players, and it’s been great getting to know the program over the years,” Cook said about his experience visiting Milwaukee. As well to attending their recent elite camp, Cook had also taken multiple visits to Milwaukee dating back to his freshman season.

As well to recently attending the Milwaukee elite camp, Cook has also made a few other visits this summer. This included ones to DePaul, Hillsdale College, and UW-Parkside. As well to his offer from Milwaukee, the guard has previously been offered by Lindsey Wilson College. Additionally, some of the other colleges recruiting him include Navy, North Dakota State, Purdue Northwest, and South Dakota Mines.

After Cook helped lead New Berlin West to the sectional finals last season as a junior while averaging 18.8 points, he has his eyes set on something bigger. “My goal is always to win a state championship. I want to do whatever I can to help our team be successful, lead by example, and continue being part of a great program. For me, it’s about our team, and what we can accomplish together,” Cook said about his upcoming senior season.
