As we wrap up this series, here are five more under the radar players from across the Midwest who have continued to excel on the hardwood.

Oliver Evans – 2027 – C – Wisconsin Breakaway

Evans is a true post who has continued to greatly develop his game and needs to be on more college coaches’ radar. He has good size standing at 6’8” with a solid build and is an old school type of big man. Evans is fundamentally sound with his interior play as a highly effective post scorer playing with physicality, sealing off defenders, and finishing very effectively through contact. The growth of his game has also been with his jumper as he can stretch the floor as a spot up three-point shooter too.

Owen Gruen – 2028 – SF – Illinois Bears

Gruen received his first college offer back in June from Lincoln Land College and should continue to draw more interest and offers. There is much to like from his game and translatable tools. He is a tough 6’5” wing forward with a versatile game, especially with his well-rounded scoring ability. Whether as a consistent spot up three-point shooter, aggressive straight-line driver, scoring it in the post using his strength, or as a skilled passer, Gruen can do a bit of everything offensively.

Breaker Heller – 2027 – PG – Renaissance University

Over the past three years, Heller has continued to shine while playing with Renaissance University. This included this year being named a top standout at the loaded NY2LA Swish N’ Dish tournament. There is not much that Heller cannot do on the floor. He excels with his ability getting to the rim with his quickness, energetic on ball defensive play, and passing ability. Look for him to have a huge senior season at Westland (OH).

Brayden Reinke – 2027 – G/F – Wisconsin Playmakers

Reinke has started to see his recruitment get started this summer and should continue to see it happen. This was his first offer last month coming from Augsburg University. In his junior season, he averaged 20.9 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 3.9 assists to earn all-state honorable mention from the WBCA. He has a nice blend of skills with his versatile scoring ability, some size at 6’4”, and athleticism.

Mario Romo – 2028 – SF – All Wisconsin

Romo had a breakout sophomore season in which he averaged 17.5 points and 6.3 rebounds for North Fond du Lace and continued that play having a standout summer. He is an athletic 6’5” wing that plays with great energy and can do so much on the floor with his versatility. This includes his tough aggressive downhill driving, rebounding at a high rate, and playing with great defensive intensity.
