We continue our series on shooters in the Midwest region who need more attention. Here are five more shooters who need to be on a great amount of college coaches lists.
Romeo Costello – 2029 – PG – Team NAF
Costello is a sophomore who is put his name on the radar this grassroots season with some standout performances with Team NAF. This included being one of the top shooters at the NY2LA Sports Invitational back in May. During this tournament he helped Team NAF to a 3-1 weekend which included him hitting three threes in a single half and four threes in another game. He has proven to be a knockdown spot up shooter who also runs the point well and create his own shot both from three and the mid-range.
Quinn Gerke – 2027 – G – Wisconsin Playmakers
Gerke is a senior guard that has plenty to offer schools at the next level. He has size in the backcourt at 6’3”, plays with great intensity defending the ball, and can shoot the three at a high level. In his junior season he was one of the top scorers in the area averaging 21.3 points getting much of it done with his jumper. He has received an offer from UW-Stout and look for that list to only grow.
Cruz Mactavish – 2027 – G/F – Meanstreets
It was a breakout grassroots season in which Mactavish consistently showcased his knockdown outside shooting ability. This included being one of the top shooters in the spring at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish tournament. He has such a smooth jumper spotting up from the outside and with his length and 6’6” size, can get his shot off at all times. The Australian native is also an athletic wing with a well-rounded game that makes him an intriguing 2027 recruit.
Preston Parmentier – 2027 – G – Reach Legends
Following a junior season which included multiple 30 plus point games, including one where he hit 8 threes in a single game, Parmentier continued his hot shooting into his grassroots season. Over the past couple of seasons with Reach Legends, the guard has been one of the top 2027 shooters on the NY2LA Association. As well to being a knockdown shooter who moves well without the ball hunting his shots, he has also grown his ability to play with the ball in his hands and hit shots off the dribble.
Duke Ross – 2027 – SF – ALL IN
With his play with All In and St. Ignatius, Ross has been a big stock riser over the past year. There is much to like from his game with his size on the wings at 6’6”, well-rounded game, tough rebounding, improved ability handling the ball, all in addition to showing the ability to be a knockdown outside shooter. Whether off the catch or dribble, Ross can really shoot the ball at a high percentage from three. Ross is a high academic target.
