While there are plenty of big-name shooters in the Midwest region, here are several who may not be well known recruits yet but can really shoot the basketball.

Grant Federer – 2028 – G – Gxfted Elite

After a limited junior high school season for a deep and talented Homestead team, Federer had a breakout grassroots season with Gxfted Elite behind his shooting. Throughout the grassroots season, the combo guard showcased his knockdown outside shooting. This was really shown in July at the Grassroots Invitational where he scored 30 points in a game as a pure three point and mid-range shooter.

Brayden Smith – 2028 – SG – Mammoth Basketball

Smith was one of the top, if not top, shooters on the 2028 level of the NY2LA Association this season. In his sophomore season at Elkhart Lake, the two-guard scored 21.6 points per game while hitting 45.8% of his threes and has continued to up his game from there. His scoring and shooting only grew throughout the grassroots season as he finished it in a big way at the NY2LA Summer Jam as one of the top scorers with averaging 19 points with much of it done from his outside jumper. This included hitting seven threes in a single game.

Ty Smith – 2027 – SG – Full Package

Throughout the spring and summer, Smith was one of the top shooters on the NY2LA Association. Whether it is from the outside or creating for himself in the mid-range, Smith has shown to be a knock down shooter. He also shown his three-level scoring ability using his size as a 6’3” guard with a strong frame being able to aggressively attack the basket. Smith is currently attracting plenty of division three interest.

Brady Welch – 2027 – PG – MidPro Academy

Throughout the past few years whether it has been for Moline High School or MidPro Academy, Welch has been one of the most productive 2027 players in Illinois. Welch has consistently proven to be a high percentage shooter with plenty of range on his pure jumper. As well to his shooting, he is also a very skilled point guard who can really create for others with his high-level passing ability, vision, and court awareness. Welch recently added an offer from a NAIA program Southern Oregon.

Emery Woehrmann – 2027 – G – Team Ramey

Woehrmann showcased his great shooting ability throughout the entire grassroots season. This started back in April at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish tournament and continued into the Nike EYCL season. At Swish N’ Dish, the 6’3” guard hit seven threes in a single game. He was in the top ten for the EYLC for made threes with 44 on the season. The high-level shooting of Woehrmann also includes his ability to create his own shot.
