Not a ton of news in these quiet days of August, but still some noticeable headlines in the region’s recruitment landscape. Here are the biggest stories of the last week.

Columbia came into the Midwest and landed one of the state’s top 2027 recruits. This came from Alex Sirbu of Breakaway and Buffalo Grove. The 6’9” post picked the Ivy League program offer his other offers coming from Brown, Illinois State, UC Davis, Northern Iowa, Northern Illinois, Holy Cross, and others.

Angelo State came into Wisconsin to land a 2027 commitment. This came from Graysen Becker, a guard of the Wisconsin Playmakers and Altoona.

Makai Campos, a 2027 guard of WM Premier and West Ottawa, has made his commitment to Wayne State.

Purdue Northwest landed an in-state commitment for its 2027 class coming from Tobias Ray, a point guard of Chesterton.

After recently making a visit to Bowling Green, George Gray has now picked up an offer from a D2 program. The 6’6” wing of ALL IN and Oak Park River Forest was offered by Winona State.   

Another player from the ALL IN program in here was 2026 Donovan Williams. The guard of Stevenson announced his college decision and will be headed to Minnesota State Moorhead.   

It has been a big month of August for Codey Bush. After being offered by Mississippi State earlier in the month, the 2029 guard of Summit Academy North has now been offered by Kansas.

The MVP of the 16U EYBL has added another offer. The newest offer for Brady Pettigrew of Bolingbrook and Brad Beal Elite came from Louisville.

Over the past week, Miles Schmidgall picked up a pair of D2 offers. These came from McKendree and Hillsdale for the senior of the Wisconsin Playmakers and Fall Creek.

Brady Welch, a senior point guard of MidPro Academy and Moline, was offered by Southern Oregon.

Jayden Comer, a senior guard of Jay County and OPS has been offered by IU Southeast.

After being offered by Purdue last month, 2029 Drew Cabana of Indiana Elite and Chelsea has added another one. The latest offer for the guard came from Creighton.
