While August is not known for its recruitment news, it was certainty a busy week of headlining stories. This was headlined by plenty of commitments from around the Midwest.
Miami (OH) landed a major piece for their 2027 recruiting class. This came from Jaylen Gunther, a guard of Youngstown Ursuline.
Lewis University landed a late addition to their 2026 recruitment class. This came from LeBron Massey Jr, a guard of Warren Township and ALL IN.
Michigan Tech has landed a commitment from one the of top available wing guards in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. This came from De Pere’s Will Krueger.
Another division two program in Michigan getting a 2027 commitment was Hillsdale College. Theirs came from Noah Bell, a guard of Youngstown Ursuline and the Midwest Basketball Club.
Travis Brown, one of the top point guards in Illinois’ 2027 class has made his college pick. The senior of the Illinois Wolves and West Aurora picked Winona State.
A senior out of Minnesota making their commitment to a division one school was Bryce Gaustad. The post of Anoka and Northstar Titans has committed to North Dakota.
Takis Tyler, a 2026-point guard of Team Herro and Milwaukee Juneau, has announced his commitment to play for Butler CC.
South Dakota State went into the state of Minnesota to land a 2027 commitment. This came from Tyler Forrest, a 6’3” guard of D1 Minnesota and Chaska.
One of the fastest rising players in Illinois’s 2027 class had made their college selection. This came from Andrew High School and Breakaway Basketball’s Ryan Dinnon who made his pledge to UW-Parkside.
It has been a very busy few months of offers for Graysen Becker. The newest one for the 2027 guard of the Wisconsin Playmakers and Altoona came from Belmont Abbey College.
After being offered by Bethel University back in July, 2027 Carson Samson has picked up another offer. The guard of West De Pere and the Wisconsin Legends has now been offered by Concordia Wisconsin following a visit.
Following a breakout grassroots season with Chippewa Valley Select, Jackson Tangley has received an offer. This came from Hamline University for the 6’3” 2027 guard of Fall Creek.
