There were few players from Wisconsin’s 2028 class who grew their game as much as Kale Graff did over the course of the grassroots season. While playing with the Wisconsin Legends, the 6’2” point guard went from a relatively unknown player to one of the top players in his state’s class.

In his sophomore season while playing for perennial power De Pere High School, Graff saw limited in his teams run to the state tournament in Madison. While apart of possibly the deepest backcourt in Wisconsin, he averaged 1.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game.

Then into the grassroots season, Graff had a truly special season improving each tournament to have a remarkable month of July. At both the NY2LA Grassroots Invitational and Summer Jam tournaments, the guard was one of the top players in attendance. With Graff, the Wisconsin Legends 16U team went 23-8 on the season and finished it off by making the championship game of the NY2LA Association. “We had a good spring, but our summer was even better. In July we only lost one game by give and beat shoe circuit teams,” Graff said about his season with the Legends.

When asked about his game, Graff said “I am a point guard and I try to find great shots for my teammates as well as for myself. I improved my shot a lot and became a consistent shooter and scorer when my teammates needed me to. I also like to grind it out on defense and guard every team’s best player.” The improved shooting of his was clear all July as he was consistently hitting threes at a high percentage. Much more than a shooter and a highly skilled point guard, Graff proved to be an incredibly well-rounded player. His great impact was also shown rebounding it so well as a guard in addition to his high energy and tough defensive play defending the ball extremely well. There are few players in the state that match his well-rounded game, feel, and intensity.

As he moves into his junior season, Graff will be a player to know if he continues this upwards trend. Playing alongside Silas Cohen and Will Krueger, De Pere should once again be one of the most talented teams in the state. “I’m looking to have a big junior year but most importantly try to win games as a team and make it back to state.”
