Colorado State and head coach Ali Farokhmanesh came into Wisconsin and landed one of the top players in its 2027 class. This came with a commitment from Eli Krueger, a 6’10” power forward of McFarland High School and the Wisconsin Swing. Krueger announced his commitment to the Rams on Tuesday.

Krueger has been one of the more sought after 2027 post players in the Midwest region over the past few years. He had received his first scholarship offer all the way back in 2024, coming from Northern Michigan. Since receiving this division two offer, Krueger built a very lengthy offer list which included over 10 of them from division one programs. Included in these were Belmont, Central Michigan, Milwaukee, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, South Dakota State, and Washington State.

The recruitment of Krueger to Colorado State quickly came along this summer. The Rams were one of his more recent offers, just having done so back in the beginning of July. The commitment follows Krueger recently making a visit out west to the Fort Collins campus.

In Krueger, Colorado State is landing a skilled power forward who has continued to add to his game throughout his high school career. As well to being 6’10”, he has a versatile game. This includes a well-rounded offensive game with an array of effective post moves, a consistent three-point shooter, and has also improved his ability to handle the ball. As well, Krueger is also a highly skilled passing big man. He is also an agile big who can be a paint protector but is also mobile at his size switching onto the perimeter and defending ball screens. In his junior season at McFarland, Krueger averaged 19.8 points in helping them advanced all the way to Madison for the state tournament. He earned all-state honors from the WBCA.

Krueger marks the second commitment in Colorado State’s 2027 recruiting class. He joins Luke Howery, a 6’6” wing guard in the class.
