Throughout the spring and summer on the NY2LA Association, one of the top point guards at the 2028 level was Joseph Arnold. With his consistent high level of play, he helped D Rice Elite win the 16U NY2LA Association Championship.

“My season went very well with D Rice Elite,” Arnold said about his play over the spring and summer. “We ended the summer 26-6. We beat some top teams in the country…Most importantly undefeated in the NY2LA circuit and won the Association Championship.”

With his stellar grassroots season, Arnold picked up his first scholarship offer even before reaching his junior season. Back in June, Saginaw Valley State became the first school to offer the point guard. “I like the Saginaw Valley’s style of play and the coaches. I also am thankful that they are taking a chance on me since I’m a small guard,” Arnold said about what he likes from them.

Throughout the entire grassroots season, Arnold consistently showcased his great playmaking ability. He is a highly elusive player with his quickness and handle along with great point guard abilities. Arnold has such a good ability to break down even quality defenders consistently and get to his spots to create. As well to his great facilitating ability, the scoring of Arnold really grew this year. Some aspects of his game that he is looking to improve upon include becoming a more vocal leader, an improved shooter, and “most importantly I’m working on my IQ.”

Next up for Arnold he is looking to become a top point guard in Michigan, grow his recruitment, and win a state championship.
