One final piece of my coverage from last weekend’s Summer Jam with five more notable players from the 15U level.

Mason Azarbad – 2029 – SG – Mercury Elite

Azarbad showed all of his offensive abilities leading Mercury Elite to one of their wins at Summer Jam. In this win, the guard scored 17 points. In the first half he proved his knockdown shooting ability drilling three threes. More than just a shooter, the rising sophomore can also handle the ball making plays off the dribble and is active on the defensive side both on and off of the ball forcing some turnovers.

Luke Foster – 2029 – G – Midwest Bobcats

Foster is a tough and active guard who consistently played well on the attack. The guard plays very well through contact with his physicality often getting all the way to the basket in addition to hitting pull up mid-range jumpers. All around the paint, Foster finished is very strong off his drives and put backs. In one of his games, he had multiple and one finishes at the basket.

Noah Jacque – 2029 – SG – Foundation South

Not only was Jacque one of the better shooters at the 15U level of Summer Jam but he is also a vocal guard who played well on the defensive side. In a win during the tournament, Jacque drilled five threes with his pure jumper spotting up from deep. His shooting ability also showed pulling up in the mid-range. On the defensive side, Jacque also showed a good ability to pressure the ball.

Drew Lenz – 2029 – PG – Team Herro

Lenz continues to prove he has a great blend of skills, feel, and high basketball IQ as just a rising sophomore. As well to scoring 23 points in a game in Team Herro’s run to the championship, he also consistently ran the point at a high level as well. He scored it well with his shot making both from the mid-range and three being able to shoot it off the dribble. Lenz is an incredibly skilled passer who also has great court awareness and decision-making ability. As well, he plays very poised with the ball in his hands.

Shamar Smith – 2029 – PF – Reach Legends

Smith is an intriguing power forward that flashed plenty of potential. He already stands at 6’6” and was impactful on both ends of the floor. This was especially the case on the defensive side of the court. He is a very rangy forward maneuvering all around the interior as a paint protector including blocking four shots in a single game. Offensively, he moves well without the ball finding open space around the interior and as a cutter.
