It was a talented group at the 2029 level with plenty of players who college coaches will want to know down the line.

Tommy Burks III – 2029 – PG – Team Herro National

Burks is a highly skilled playmaker with the ball in his hands. This includes his ability to create for others, hit shots off the dribble, and get to the basket often. Burks is so quick with the basketball often getting deep into the paint. He excels with his play on the attack, the point guards looks to distribute it effectively and also finished well for his size around the interior. Burks also showed his ability to hit threes off the dribble creating separation well.

Messiah Harris – 2029 – PG – Reach Legends

Harris has continued to play at a high level each time I have seen him play this year with Reach. The 6’0” point guard has an advanced game and knows how to play. While he can be a true point guard running the offense and creating for others, he also scores it well being able to create for himself. He moves so well with the ball beating his man and going right through the defense and looks to distribute it on the attack. Not only has he continued to be an effective scorer getting all the way to the rim but has also consistently hit threes.

Vinny Kleinsmith – 2029 – SG – Davis Brothers Elite

The wing guard had one of the top games at the 15U level of the tournament in which he scored 20 points in a semifinals win. Much of this was done with his outside shooting as Kleinsmith knocked down four threes in just this one game and adding some buckets playing strong on the attack. More than just his scoring, he also made plenty of plays on the defensive side. He is very active on that end both showing the ability to be a lock down on ball defender as well as being effective in help. With his length and motor, he blocked multiple shots in that semifinals game.

Kash Knueppel – 2029 – SF – Team Herro

Knueppel has continued to have some big moments in championship games this grassroots season. Back in April at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish tournament, he scored 11 points just in the second half of the championship game win. Now, just in the first half of the 15U championship game win this tournament, he scored 19 points to build a significant lead. He has some size at 6’4” and athleticism plus was playing with great energy to score it efficiently all around the paint. Whether it was on dump offs, put backs, or in transition, Knueppel was finishing everything playing with plenty of toughness scoring right through defenders. He was also very effective getting himself to the line and knocking them all down.

Nedas Mickus – 2029 – SF – Mercury Elite

Mickus had multiple standout games including one with 21 points and another where he hit four threes, both in wins. As well to being a lengthy 6’4” wing, Mickus also has a well-rounded game as a rising sophomore. In addition to being a good spot up shooter hitting threes at a high percentage, he can also handle the ball, defend multiple positions effectively, plays tough rebounding on each end, and also passes it well.

Nolan Schott – 2029 – G – Foundation South

Schott was one of the more versatile and impactful guards at the 15U level helping his team to win the platinum consolation championship. As well to his skill set, the 5’11” guard plays with good energy and is effective playing both on and off the ball. Over multiple games, Schott showed his ability to be a consistent three-point shooter, can run the point, has good moves going right through the defense getting to the rim and finishing, shot it well pulling up in the mid-range, rebounded it very well as a guard with his toughness, and also passes it well out the perimeter knowing where to go with the ball.

Alvis Wilson – 2029 – PF – Courts Vision Elite

Along with showing plenty of upside, Wilson is already an impactful and fluid forward that showed great flashes. This is headlined with his physical tools as he already stands at 6’5” with great length. He made his greatest impactful with his versatile defensive play. This was especially in the paint as a rangy defender covering plenty of ground as a help defender inside. He also moves well both defending on the perimeter as well as in the full court press. Offensively he scored it well running the floor finishing dunks in addition to being able to put the ball on the floor and scored through contact at the basket.
