Second group up for the stock boosters from the 16U level of the NY2LA Summer Jam tournament.

Carter Conway – 2028 – G – 24UP

Conway is a 6’2” guard with a versatile offensive game. As well to scoring 18 points in a game getting it done in a variety of ways, he can also run the point. He was very effective scoring as a strong, downhill driver who finishes well in traffic and shot it well from three in multiple games in addition to also hitting the offensive glass effectively for put backs.

Austin Couillard – 2028 – SF – Milwaukee Trail Blazers

Couillard is a high energy wing forward with some size at 6’5” who also flashed a versatile game helping his team to the championship game of the 16U platinum division. While he made plenty of plays with his size and energy including tough interior defense, running the floor hard, rebounding the ball strong, he also showed a growing offensive game. This was with scoring it well on the attack handling the ball and using his frame to get to the basket, passes it well, and also hit some threes during the tournament.

Eddy Johnson – 2028 – PF – Kessel Heat

Johnson is a high upside power forward who has some size in the frontcourt at 6’7” along with being an impactful player on both ends. This started with his energetic play both defensively down in the paint as a shot blocker as well as on the glass being a highly effective rebounder getting up to grab them. Offensively he used his size well as a back to the basket scorer finishing over defenders as well as hitting mid-range jumpers.

Caleb Kruse – 2028 – G – Mercury Elite

Kruse scored it well throughout the tournament helping Mercury Elite to a 3-1 tournament record. This included a 22 points game as well to a pair of 14 point games. The guard did much of this scoring with his three point shooting. He showcased a pure jumper and moves well without the ball and was quickly getting into shot off the catch. In a single half of play, Kruse drilled four threes. More than just a shooter, he also handles the ball well playing on the attack as a facilitator with good decision maker while also finishing it around the paint in traffic.

Mario Romo – 2028 – SF – All Wisconsin

Romo is a highly impactful 6’5” wing who was making plenty of plays in All Wisconsin’s run to the platinum consolation championship. He plays with great energy defending both inside and out, blocking shots, grabbing plenty of rebounds especially on the offensive side. Offensively, he is an aggressive driver playing at his own pace and using his size to often get himself to the basket and free throw line as well to also being able to his shots off the dribble in the mid-range.

Marcus Shackelford – 2028 – G – West Michigan Premier

Shackelford is an active guard who was making plenty of plays throughout the tournament contributing in a variety of ways. He scored a basket right off the opening tip of his first game and kept on making plays from there. The guard plays well on the attack, consistently looking to aggressively attack the basket and finished well versus size. He also made plays hitting the offensive glass hard as well to getting out in transition and scoring the ball.

Ayouba Turay – 2028 – PG – Team Herro Elite

It has been a standout July for the point guard with his play here at Summer Jam helping his team go undefeated in bracket play as well as the previous tournament at the Grassroots Invitational. In his opening game Turay hit a pair of threes in a 21 point win but really excelled with his ability on the attack. He has good moves with the ball changing directions effectively, often getting two feet into the paint. On his drives, he showed great vision being able to get the ball out to teammates with some great finds on the move.
