One last group of notable players from the 17U level of the NY2LA Summer Jam. 16U coverage is up next.

Nasir Avery – 2027 – PG – Team Herro National

Avery is an under the radar guard who has had multiple standout tournaments this grassroots season and continued that into this tournament. He is a skilled scorer who had games of 18 points and 17 points but can do plenty more. This includes his ability to run the point creating for others, rebounds it very well as a guard, and pressures the ball effectively on the defensive side. Avery has also continued to show his ability to hit the three at a high percentage while also moving well with the ball often getting deep into the paint.

Blake Basich – 2027 – PG – Pro Lane

Tournament after tournament, Basich has been one of the most consistent players on the NY2LA Association. This consistent play was highlighted by his high level, smart point guard play in addition to his three-point shooting over the four days to get Pro Lane into the tournament semifinals. In the first round of bracket play of a 2-point win, Basich drilled three threes in addition making several very good passes with his great court vision and quick decision making.

Trace Damrow – 2027 – SG – Wisconsin Legends

The hot scoring Damrow got off to a very fast start at Summer Jam. In the Legends opening game, the 6’5” two guard hit three threes in just the first few minutes of this win. Not only has he consistently shown his knockdown shooting being able to his threes in bunches but also a well-rounded offensive game becoming a more improved player off the dribble. During this tournament, Damrow was also playing with greater energy hitting the glass hard using his positional size.

Bo Grabner – 2027 – C – Wisconsin Blizzard

It has been a major stock boosting month for Grabner from his play at the Grassroots Invitational and then into Summer Jam. As well to being 6’9” with a solid build to be effective inside on both ends, Grabner has continued to become a more consistent shooter. This was with hitting a pair of threes in a game. He is also able to score inside over defenders with soft touch and also rebounds it effectively and quickly outlets the ball. If his game continues on this trajectory up, Grabner will certainly be a 2027 post to watch.

Kason Mangum – 2027 – F – MTXE Premier

Highlighted by his outside shooting ability, Mangum had multiple efficient double figures scoring games. With this, Mangum hit four threes in a game and three in another. Much more than just a shooter, he also has a well-rounded game along with having some size at 6’6”. He can also play even bigger inside both scoring and rebounding the ball in addition to being a paint protector.
