Part two with five more players in the region for college coaches to watch this July.

Owen Birschbach – 2028 – SF – Mammoth Basketball

From a first team all-conference sophomore season with New Holstein and throughout the spring grassroots season with Mammoth, Birschbach has continued to be a highly impactful player. The small forward is 6’5” with a versatile game and a strong frame. He was one of the top 2028 players at the NY2LA Next Level Invitational last month showing his well-rounded offensive game, which included scoring 23 points in a win. He is also a versatile defender being able to match up with multiple positions effectively playing with good energy.

Liam Laidig – 2028 – SF – Kessel Heat

It was a breakout spring for Laidig who has even bigger days ahead of him on the court this summer. At both the Grassroots Showcase and NY2LA Sports Invitational, he was one of the more impactful forwards at the 16U level, this included a 25-point game. He is a versatile 6’5” forward with a nice blend of high energy play, toughness, athleticism, and emerging skills. With all these tools he plays big inside on both ends scoring posting up or from the dunker spot but also scores it well in transition and has some quickness to beat forwards off the dribble.

Deuce McDuffie – 2027 – SG – Team Herro

McDuffie is the top ranked available player in Wisconsin’ 2027 class and should continue to see his recruitment grow with all of his translatable tools. He has elite positional size at 6’7” to go along with his three-level scoring ability, athleticism, and ability to defend 1-4 effectively. He averaged 9.8 points, 4 rebounds, and 1.7 assists for Team Herro during the spring on the EYBL. McDuffie currently has offers from DePaul, TCU, UCF, West Virginia, and others and don’t be surprised to see this list grow in the coming weeks.

Emmett Munson – 2028 – SF – River City United

Munson was a breakout star at the NY2LA Sports Invitational this spring and is a rising junior to track this summer. At the tournament he led his team to a 4-0 record which including scoring 29 points in a single game. He is a physical 6’4” wing forward with a big motor who can do a bit of everything on the floor including scoring the ball in a variety of ways. He excels as a tough, downhill driver who finishes it strong around the paint while also being able to hit the three.

Kameron Shannon – 2028 – F – REACH Legends

Over the past couple of years with REACH Legends, Shannon has continued to develop his game but still have even greater upside. The rising junior took great strides in his game this spring showing an improved skill set. He greatly impressed in May at the NY2LA Spring Extravaganza with an improved ability to handle the ball and attack the basket as well as spotting up and hit the three. This is in addition to standing at 6’9” with his length and fluid athleticism. The 2028 forward should be on college coaches’ radars during the upcoming live periods with all his tools and elite upside.
