Following the great growth of his game over the past few months, the recruitment has started to heat up for Boti Szabo-Zsamba. This includes the 6’9” post of Full Package and Lake Forest Academy picking up his first offer.
This week, Pittsburgh State, a division two school in Kansas, extended an offer to Szabo-Zsamba. “They value physicality, they get their bigs involved, and I think my game fits that really well. I’m a guy who loves to rebound, defend, run the floor, and finish inside, so I can see myself fitting into their system,” the rising senior had to say about Pittsburgh State.
While Pittsburgh State may be his first offer, the growth in his recruitment has seen plenty of other programs start to show interest in him. He has a few division one programs show interest including Northern Illinois as well to Ivy League programs. This is in addition to interest from division two and three level schools.
During his spring grassroots season with Full Package, Szabo-Zsamba proved he is one of the higher upside big men in Illinois’ 2027 class. “It was really great, as a kid from Hungary it’s exciting to play AAU, and I think Full Package is the best team for it, we are like a family, everyone got each other back and support each other,” he said about his spring season. Throughout the season he was consistently a big presence inside as he stands at 6’9” along with a very strong build. He is a paint protector defensively who can also rebound the ball at a high rate. This is in addition to continuing to show improvement with his offensive game as a back to the basket scorer. He also plays with good energy both in the paint as well as a rim running big and uses his strength and physicality effectively battling inside.
