History has repeated itself with another Knueppel committing to Duke. Following in his older brothers Kon’s footsteps, Kager Knueppel has made his commitment to the Blue Devils. Kager is a 6’10” 2027 wing forwards of Team Herro and Wisconsin Lutheran High School. He announced his commitment on Monday evening with the caption, “The Brotherhood just got bigger, again.”
In each of his three high school seasons with Wisconsin Lutheran, Knueppel has captured a state championship. This past season as a junior, he averaged 16.4 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.9 blocks per game in an undefeated season. During the spring on the Nike EYBL, Knueppel leads Team Herro with 16.5 points in addition to 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 1 steal, and 1.2 block per game to help them to a 9-2 record. This is in addition to shooting 51.3% from the field and 50.3% from three. As well this spring, at the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish Tournament he helped Team Herro with the platinum championship while scoring 14 points in just the second half of the title game victory.
The commitment comes after Duke had offered Knueppel back at the end of April. He was the first player in the 2027 class to be offered by Duke and is now their first commitment in the class. He chose the Blue Devils over offers from Michigan, Purdue, Wisconsin, among others.
Over the past few months, Knueppel has been one of the fastest rising nationally in the 2027 class. He is ranked as high as 28th nationally by 247 Sports. As well to being ranked 44th by Rivals. Duke is landing one of the most uniquely talented players nationally. There are few players at 6’10” who can match his advanced skill set and everything he can do. This includes being an elite shooter from three. This is in addition to his athleticism, playmaking with the ball, shot blocking, and feel.
