Greg Gard and Wisconsin are looking to have one of their top recruiting classes in recent history for the 2027 class. The Badgers have now landed their third commitment for their 2027 class, all coming just in the month of June over the past few weeks.

The run of commitments this month started with Jalen Brown, a 6’4” point guard of Wauwatosa West High School (WI). Then just over week later from that, they then landed a commitment from Jack Thelen, a 7’1” center of Maple Grove High School (MN). Then today, they added a commitment from Baboucarr Ann, a 6’5” wing guard of Maple Grove High School (MN). As well to Thelen and Ann being high school teammates, they also play together for D1 Minnesota grassroots program.

Wisconsin is landing one of the top wing guards nationally in the 2027 class. He is ranked as high as 40th nationally according to Rivals. As well, he is ranked 84th by 247 Sports. The combination of Ann and Brown give Wisconsin a pair of consensus top one hundred nationally ranked players to headline this 2027 recruiting class.

Ann was offered by Wisconsin back in October of last year while on a visit. He chose the Badgers over offers from Iowa State, Minnesota, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State, Providence College, West Virginia State, among a few others.

This spring with D1 Minnesota, Ann has averaged 10.5 points per game while shooting 54.1% from the field. This is in addition to 4.8 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.1 steals per game.
