While there are plenty of under recruited players everywhere, especially in today’s recruitment landscape, one of the biggest is Chris Retic. The 6’7” 2027 wing of Golda Meir High School (WI) and Jay Academy should be receiving much greater college interest following his breakout spring grassroots season.

The growth of the game for Retic started in his junior season in which he averaged 21.2 points, 11.8 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.5 steals, and 5.2 blocks per game to help Golda Meir win the Milwaukee City Blue Championship. His game has only continued to take off over the past couple of months in the spring season. He started off the spring in a big way getting Jay Academy to the quarterfinals of the NY2LA Swish N’ Dish tournament. At this tournament, he had one of the most impressive performances scoring 18 points in a single half. His high level of play only continued to grow throughout the season as he has been one of the top and most consistent players on the NY2LA Association. This includes being one of the top scorers as well as shot blockers.

With his consistent high level of play, the recruitment has not followed as much as it should. The recruitment of Retic has grown with him receiving interest from several division three programs. Though for a player with all his tools and consistent highly impactful play, he has shown his ability to be a scholarship level player.

There are few players with all the abilities that Retic has in the regions 2027 class as he has shown he can take over on both ends of the court. This starts with his size on the wings at 6’7” with plus length in addition to his explosive athleticism. Retic also plays with great energy and intensity. He is slashing wing that is also a lob threat as well to showing the ability to shoot it well from three. He also shines defensively with his energy and physical tools. He can match up effectively with multiple positions in addition to being a true shot blocker.

Scholarship level college coaches should be looking the way of Retic this summer.
