With the great growth of his game, Landon Lethunya has proven to be one of the highest forwards in Illinois’ 2027 class. This had led to the 6’9” rising senior of Full Package and Lake Forest Academy continuing to generate greater college interest.
During the spring with Full Package, Lethunya has been one of the more impactful and consistent players on the NY2LA Association. “Spring with Full Package was great,” Lethunya said. “We had a lot of opportunities to play against talented teams and I felt like we grew a lot as a group. I felt like I set a good foundation for the summer by being a versatile presence on the floor inside, outside, and on the defensive end.”
When asked to describe his own game, Lethunya first said “highly versatile two-way player.” Adding in “Because of my size and length, I focus on altering shots, being a great rim protector, and containing the offense. Offensively, I like to play inside out. Being a mismatch for most defenders, I use my size and touch down low to score over top of people and use my handle and athleticism to face up and find my shot or finish at the rim.” Lethunya has a highly unique blend of talents that not many have at the high school level as he stands at 6’9” along with his fluid athleticism. This is in addition to a growing offensive game as he has become a much improved three-point shooter, be an effective slasher, and strong finisher at the rim.
With all his tools and his development, Lethunya has continued to add the number of interested programs in him. This includes several division one programs showing interest in him. Amongst these are Harvard, Holy Cross, Mercyhurst, Northern Illinois, and Yale who he has talked to.
For his upcoming summer season with Full Package, Lethunya is looking to win games as well as “build out my frame as well showcase my versatility.”
