As well to the standouts, there were plenty of prospects greatly boosting their recruiting stock with some stellar performances.
Keontae Douglas – 2028 – PG – Hyde Park
Douglas had multiple standout games, one which included 29 points. He is a quick point guard who is very shifty moving through the defense to be a real playmaker with the ball. The rising junior was often getting into the paint creating but also shoots it well off the dribble from the outside. More than just a scorer, Douglas also showed a good distributing ability, passing it well on the move hitting cutters and big men inside. He also used his speed effectively in the full court to pressure the ball.
AJ Enyia – 2027 – F – St. Laurence
Enyia is an intriguing forward with a good blend of abilities. This includes being a mobile and lengthy 6’8” forward with an impactful game making plenty of plays on each end of the floor. His versatile game allowed him to control the glass and then also take the rebounds the length of the floor for transition baskets moving well with the ball. His offensive game also includes finishing at a high percentage around the paint plus step out and knock down some outside shots. He is agile defensively inside as a paint protector while also being able to match up with forwards on the perimeter. He showed plenty of translatable tools for the next level.
Cormac Hanus – 2027 – G/F – Benet Academy
What Hanus showed throughout the spring with Full Package, he continued here with Benet. This was highlighted by his outside shooting ability. The 6’5” wing has continued to build as a knockdown shooter. This helped him have a couple of twenty plus point games. He is a confident shooter spotting up from the outside with a pure stroke but also showed the ability to handle the ball and hit threes off the dribble as well.
Cole Jansons – 2028 – F/C – Oswego
Jansons is an extremely high upside post to know in Illinois’ 2028 class. This starts with his size as he stands already at 6’11” with a good frame along with some emerging tools. He is a mobile big man that plays aggressively both attacking the glass as well as his interior defense being a rim protector. His mobility also showed on the offensive size scoring as a roller while also using his size to score in the low post.
Jaivyn Richardson – 2028 – PG – Whitney Young
Over the course of multiple games, Richardson showed good playmaking on both sides of the ball. He plays with great defensive energy and uses his quickness to pressure the ball effectively in the half court forcing turnovers and disrupting the offense as well to getting into the passing lanes. While Richardson shoots it well from deep, he was showcasing his elusive playmaking throughout this event. He uses his speed and shiftiness maneuvering through the defense. With his floater he finished it well over size around the paint.
Noah VanTholen – 2028 – PG – Riverside Brookfield
VanTholen looked to be one of the higher upside 2028 players of the shootout as he continues to have a big month of June. He has great positional size as a 6’4” point guard but also showed his scoring ability throughout the event with games of 27 points, 24 points, and 20 points. This is in addition to his length and great athleticism. He plays well with the ball both being able to run the point as well as score on the attack. He plays strong getting all the way to the basket and finishing in traffic while also being able to consistently hit mid-range pull up jumpers.
Terryion Webster – 2027 – G/F – East St. Louis
The 6’5” wing showed a good ability on both sides of the ball. This included his outside shooting as Webster showed a very good ability to hit threes both off the catch and dribble at a high percentage hitting plenty of them in his four games. As well to his shooting, the rising senior is also a versatile defender. He is a fluid athlete who moves well with the ball getting all over ballhandlers with his size and length.
