The first group of standouts included Travis Brown Jr, Phillip Jones, Cole Kelly, Markese Peoples, Brady Prettigrew, Ed Stasys, and Ethan Vahl. Here are the next group up from the weekends loaded Riverside Brookfield Shootout.

Tray Alford – 2027 – PG – Oswego

While Alford showed a good scoring ability, he was also one of the top facilitators of the entire event dishing out plenty of assists. He plays quick with the ball in his hands along with great floor vision at all times. He showed good shot making ability being able to create in the mid-range and consistently hit the three but was always looking to create for his teammates too while often being able to get into the paint.

John Brown IV – 2028 – F – Homewood-Flossmoor

Brown is an emerging forward who proved to be a highly impactful player as well to having tremendous upside. He made a lot of plays on both ends including shining on the defensive end where he plays with good energy. He stands at 6’6” and can play even bigger inside being a natural shot blocker but also moves well out on the perimeter defending the ball. Brown is a bouncy forward who scored it well as a cutter moving well without the ball.

Cam James – 2027 – G/F – Hoffman Estates

James showed a very good scoring ability with games of 18 points and 16 points while also being able to do plenty more. The 6’4” wing has a strong build and is a versatile scoring ability while being able to create for himself. James showed the ability to score it from all three levels shooting it well off the dribble while also using his strength to get to his spots around the paint. He impressed with his shot making hitting contested threes and fade away mid-range jumpers. James also showed his high impact being very active as a rebounder and making high energy plays. He is an emerging rising senior that should be getting on plenty of college coaches’ radars.

Denard Grayson – 2027 – G – Hyde Park

Grayson had one of the more impressive offensive games of the tournament leading Hyde Park to a win on Friday. In the win, Grayson shot it very well from the outside hitting four threes. Much more than just a spot up shooter, the rising senior also played well with the ball on the attack. He moves well with the ball getting to the basket in both the half court and in transition being able to finish in traffic as well as pulling up in the mid-range. As well to scoring, Grayson also contributed being able to run the point as well as a good ability to defend the ball in the half court forcing turnovers.

DeVrice Johnson – 2027 – G – East St. Louis

Johnson was one of a few standouts from East St. Louis’ 4-0 tournament run, especially in their impressive win over Bolingbrook. He got off to an extremely quick start scoring the ball as he was into double digits scoring in the first several minutes of play. This included a pair of early threes but also scored it well on the attack scoring the ball at a high parentage. He plays with some toughness both as a downhill driver as well as defending the ball. On the attack, Johnson plays well through contact getting to the basket and finishing but also showed his ability hit shots in the mid-range.

Mason Martin – 2027 – SG – Neuqua Valley

Over the course of the tournament, the Illinois commit showed his great scoring ability. This was highlighted by his shot making, which included in this shootout hitting four threes in a single half. He is a confident shooter with his pure jumper spotting up from three but can also create his shot off the dribble too. He has also shown an improved ability scoring going to the ability including scoring well as a cutter. Martin uses his 6’5” frame to both finish it at the basket as well as create space in the mid-range effectively.
