In has been a monumental spring in the recruitment of Ben Wittnebel. Not only has the 6’6” wing guard of Beaver Dam High School and Wisconsin Academy picked up his first scholarship offer but now has added his second one.
The first of these offers came back at the end of April from Northern Michigan. The newest of these came this week from another division program in Michigan being from Michigan Tech. Some of the other programs showing the most interest in him include Hillsdale College, Minnesota Duluth, Winona State, among others.
The offer from Michigan Tech comes after Wittnebel just took a visit there on Monday. “It was good. Got to meet the players, tour campus and the sport facilities, and work out with two of the players,” he said about the visit. When asked if there is anything he likes about them, he responded “I like the atmosphere, the players, the coaches were very honest with me.”
The great growth in the recruitment of Wittnebel has come as he has been one of the fastest rising players in Wisconsin’s 2028 class over the past several months. This started during his sophomore season at Beaver Dam in which he averaged 13.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.2 steals. His high level of play has continued into the spring including three twenty plus point games at session one of the UA Rise helping Wisconsin Academy to a 4-0 tournament record.
Wittnebel is a highly intriguing player in Wisconsin’s 2028 class who should continue to generate plenty of division two interest as well as division one interest too. As well to having great positional size as a lengthy 6’6” wing guard, Wittnebel also has a good offensive skill set. This includes his shot making ability with a near automatic mid-range pullup game.
