There were many stellar performances throughout the two days of this tournament. Here are a sample of the standouts from the 16U level of the NY2LA Next Level Invitational.

Donovin Bolden – 2028 – PG – Team Hali

From his play in multiple games, Bolden proved to be one of the top playmaking point guards of the tournament as well as being a knockdown outside shooter. This included hitting four threes in a single game. He has a nice combination of handle and moves with the ball to be highly elusive being able to get into the paint and create his own shot. Bolden finished it well all around the paint being able to finish through contact as well as using floater and runners over defenders.

Kartier Calvert – 2029 – F – Team Herro

Even while playing up a level, Calvert lands here as one of the top players at the 16U level. He proved to be a true inside-out threat. He stands at 6’6” but can play even bigger inside scoring posting up as well as on put backs versus some tough and sizable interior defenders playing with his physicality. Though Calvert really shined with his shooting ability. This included hitting six threes in a single game to put up 28 points. Calvert caught fire from the outside as he was just hitting everything and doing so both off the catch and dribble.

Cornell Clark – 2028 – PG – MGC Elite

Clark shined in multiple games with his electric playmaking ability. This included scoring 20 points in a game as the point guard showed he can go on big scoring runs. Whether it was on the attack or from the outside, Clark showed the ability to score the ball in bunches. He is quick and shifty with the ball both getting into the paint as well as being able to create his own shot. Clark was also a playmaker on the defensive side as a highly active on ball defender and in the passing lanes forcing plenty of turnovers.

Silas Cohen – 2028 – PG – All Wisconsin

Cohen played at a high level in multiple games to be one of the top guards of the tournament. This included scoring 20 points just in a single half of a game. He has good positional size at 6’3” along with plenty of length too. He proved to be a consistent outside shooter from three but really excelled with his playmaking ability off the dribble. Cohen moves extremely well with the ball breaking down defenders with his shiftiness and getting plenty of paint touches. The guard was able to finish it well absorbing contact at the basket in addition to passing it well on the move.

Oliver Gradek – 2028 – G – Full Package

Gradek had one of the most impressive games of the tournament in which he scored 29 points in a thrilling double overtime comeback win. Much of this was done with his pure looking jump shot which he has good range with. In this one game the guard knocked down five threes as well as some mid-range jumpers too. As well to his shooting, Gradek played with good energy on the defensive side making some key stops in this comeback.

Nigel Moore – 2028 – PG – Zero Fears

At both the 17U and 16U levels, Moore showed a high-level scoring ability. This included multiple 30 plus point games while also being able to distribute it too as a skilled passer. He moves extremely well with the ball being able to create for himself. Moore plays quick with the ball and changes directions so effectively creating separation to quickly get into his shot off the catch in addition to getting into the paint and finishing through contact.

Corvalis Stewart Jr – 2028 – G – Wisconsin Academy

The 6’2” guard had a couple of high scoring games including ones with 24 points and 22 points. Much more than just a scorer, Stewart showed the ability to be a high-level defender shutting down opposing ball handlers as well to creating well for teammates. Stewart did hit a few threes in the tournament but is at his best playing on the attack. The guard moves very well with the ball breaking down defenders and hitting the gaps to consistently get into the paint and score it.
