One incredibly high upside player who is starting to emerge this spring to college coaches is Nathan Freiheit of PAC Elite and Buffalo Grove High School (IL). The 2027 post is incredibly intriguing as a true seven-footer but there continues to be more to like from his game with his development.

Throughout the entire spring with PAC Elite, Freiheit has continued to develop his all-around game. “My spring season with PAC Elite has been great so far. I feel like I’ve been able to show my ability to space the floor, protect the rim, and impact the game on both ends. One of my best moments this spring was getting hot from three in a close game and helping my team when we needed it most. Playing high level competition has also helped me continue to grow as a player,” Freiheit said. Another big moment he had this spring was a game winning, buzzer beating basket at the Grassroots Showcase in Louisville in April.

“Over the past few weeks there’s definitely been more schools reaching out and showing interest, especially after the live period,” Freiheit said about the recent growth in his recruitment. “It’s motivating to see more coaches paying attention to my development.” Right now, he is seeing interest from multiple levels of college programs from division one to three. “I’ve been hearing from a mix of D2 and D3 programs, while also getting interest from some D1 schools.”

Freiheit is an intriguing prospect as not just a seven-footer but also his mobility and being a consistent shooter from three. “One of the biggest parts of my game I want to improve is making quicker and better reads in ball screen situations. I’m also continuing to work on finishing stronger in the post and becoming more consistent offensively.” For the upcoming summer, he is looking to keep developing, win games, and prove that he can compete at a high level consistently. “I want college coaches to notice how adaptable I am and how I can fit into different offenses because of my ability to play inside and out.
