One of the breakout stars on the NY2LA Association as well as Wisconsin’s 2027 class this spring has been KJ Cross. While playing with the Wisconsin Dynasty, Cross has only continued to improve tournament after tournament over the past several weeks throughout the spring season.

The great growth in Cross was especially true last weekend at the NY2LA Spring Extravaganza. Cross was one of the top scorers of the entire tournament which included the top scoring game. To start off the tournament he went for 26 points in a win. He then finished the tournament off by scoring 41 points in a tight game. “Great,” is how Cross first described his spring season with the Dynasty. “They are giving me enough leash to work on all the skills I need to develop for someone my height at the next level and I am really appreciative for that and also we made some great new additions to our team so that we can continue to play as best winning basketball.”

With the growth of his game, Cross has started to appear on the radar of some college programs. Amongst these are Ripon, UW-La Crosse, and UW-Stevens Point who have been in contact with him. While it is still early in the recruitment of Cross, if he continues to play at this same high level, look for this list to grow considerably.

Cross has good physical tools to go along with a growing offensive game. The wing stands at 6’5” along with a strong a build. He plays with great physicality both attacking the basket as well as rebounding. Cross is also a fluid athlete with a quick second jump. One aspect of his game that he has shown some development on and is continuing to work on is his jumper. “I just know that for a guy at my height I have to be able to hit the jump shot consistently at the next level when slashing isn’t working for me,” Cross said.

“I know I might not have all the flashy plays that cameras love to record but I know I have a skill level to hang up there with some of the best guys in my class, so I really want to try and prove that this year and get ready for leading my team this upcoming season,” Cross said about his goals for his upcoming summer season.
