Next up in the 17U coverage of the Spring Extravaganza with a second group of top performers.

Tyler Cibulka – 2027 – SG – Full Package

Cibulka has continued to grow his skill level to be one of the better scorers of this tournament. This included having efficient games of 20 points and 17 points all a part of his teams deep and well-rounded attack. Along with being a skill scorer, Cibulka also has some size in the backcourt at 6’3”. He did much of his scoring with his jumper shooting it well off the catch and dribble, including hitting three threes in one of his games. He also showed the ability to score it on the attack as a strong driver playing through contact and finishing well for multiple and ones.

Demarion Epperson – 2026 – SF – Gxfted Elite

Even at 6’4”, Epperson proved that he can be an overpowering force around the basket. This was shown by scoring on three put back baskets in just the first few minutes of game on his way to scoring 25 points in a win as part of a 4-0 weekend. In the game he grabbed countless offensive rebounders with his strength and energy just outworking every opponent. Epperson also scored it well getting out in transition in addition to hitting a few threes during the tournament.

Luke Fogg – 2027 – PG – ProSkills Indy

Behind the play of Fogg, ProSkills went 3-1 at the Spring Extravaganza including plenty of key plays down the stretch of a two-point win on Saturday. Fogg has a good combination of point guard play as well as scoring ability. This includes scoring 20 points in one of his games. Even while Fogg was scoring it very well, he was also running the point and looking to distribute it. The high IQ point guard is a skilled passer on the move with his vision and court awareness. Fogg did the bulk of his scoring on the attack moving well with the ball and finishing it efficiently all around the paint right over defenders.

Jahkil Jackson – 2026 – SG – PAC Elite

Jackson was one of the more well-rounded and impactful players of the tournament. As well to his scoring ability including a 19-point game, he did plenty more. Jackson is an athletic 6’3” guard, who plays with good energy and physicality. He did the bulk of his scoring on the attack as an aggressive driver who moves well with the ball and playing well through contact. Jackson also proved to be a tough and versatile on ball defender as well to rebounding very well as a guard. Jackson is a player with a lot of translatable tools that should be getting attention from scholarship level programs.

Kelby Martin – 2027 – G – Ohio Premier

While Martin shined throughout the weekend, this was especially the case in a second half comeback attempt on Sunday. This was with scoring 14 points in this single second half while hitting four threes as well to making some key plays defensively and a couple of assists. More than just a shooter, Martin also moves well with ball changing speeds, being able to create off the dribble for himself. Martin shot the ball at a high percentage off the dribble. He also showed his athleticism with a powerful driving dunk in a game Saturday as well to multiple help blocks. Martin recently picked up an offer from Kentucky Christian.

Owen Potts – 2027 – G – MN Lightning

Potts is a 6’3” combo guard with a college ready frame and a well-rounded skill set. While he can run the point playing smart with the ball in his hands reading the floor well, Potts can also score it well. This included scoring 21 points in a win. While Potts can be a good facilitator, he shined with his efficient scoring ability as a consistent spot up outside shooter while also playing well on the attack and finishing it around the paint.

Paul Ridgway – 2027 – G/F – DistinXion

With multiple standout games, Ridgway helped DistinXion to an undefeated 4-0 record in pool play. As well to consistently scoring the ball in double digits in the tournament, Ridgway can do so much more. This is with his size at 6’6” along with his well-rounded game and energetic play. He is a tough defender both on the ball as well as in help including several blocks throughout the tournament. The wing continues to score it well driving to the basket with his long strides and finishing strong at the basket as well to his improved shooting hitting threes both off the catch and dribble.

Gary Thorpe – 2027 – PG – Jay Academy

Thorpe has been having a very good spring and was playing at even a high level in this tournament. This was highlighted when he scored 13 points in just the second half of his first game that went into double overtime. He plays quick with the ball in his hands with handle and shiftiness to often breakdown defenders getting into the paint. On the attack he both scored and distributed it while also shooting the three at a high percentage. Thorpe also plays active with his on-ball defense as well as chasing down rebounds.
