Even at the 12U level, there was plenty of impressive players showing great abilities at a young age. Here are some of the top standouts amongst them.

Kaiden Beverly – G/F – Team Hali Joseph

Beverly was one of the most impactful and versatile players at the 12U level. He showed his ability to take over getting his team a 6-0 start to a game while recording a driving basket, two steals, and two assists all on the first three possessions. As well to having some positional size, Beverly is an athletic wing. He is a highly versatile defender matching up with nearly anyone on the floor while defending both inside and out very well. He scored it well both driving to the basket as well as on put backs as the aggressive rebounder who can control the glass. He also showed a good passing ability including some on target full court passes starting the transition break.

Joseph Chapman – G/F – CBA

Even at his young age, Chapman has continued to impress over the past couple of years on the hardwood and this was even more true at this tournament. As well to having good size and even better length, he also has such a well-rounded game and showed his ability to take over for long stretches. This included the championship game where he scored 25 points in the winning effort as well to scoring it well throughout the entire tournament. He scored it well in a variety of ways, threes off the catch and dribble, around the basket with good footwork, in transition off his own steals. This is all in addition to being able to run the point and showing his ability to be a shutdown defender with his size and quickness.

Lydell James – G/F – 24UP Jones

James is a high energy wing who also showed some good skills and versatility too. With his size, length, and physicality, James was a dominant rebounder on both ends. While he did the bulk of his scoring around the paint, he also showed that he can step out and hit the three. James also showed his ability to be a good defender both in the paint and on the perimeter in addition to being able to handle the ball and create for others.

Jayden Josetti – F – 24UP Jr. P32

With multiple games of over 20 points, Joseti was a big reason why his 24UP team made it to the title game. This included scoring 25 points in the semifinals win. He has a nice blend of size along with a versatile game. He can play big inside and score the ball very effectively but also play out on the perimeter being able to handle the ball and attack the basket. His high scoring production was in addition to rebounding the ball very well and shot blocking inside.

Cole Michalak – G – Pro Lane

Michalak had one of the top shooting performances of the entire tournament. This was by hitting five threes in a bracket play win to get his team into the semifinals. When spotting up from the outside, the guard was just not missing. While a very good shooter, he also added a couple baskets playing on the attack showing a good ability to handle the ball and beat defenders off the dribble.

Terrence Peterson Jr. – PG – Team Herro Jr. EYBL

Peterson is a quick playmaking point guard who had multiple standout games. This included starting the tournament off with a 17-point game. Along with his quickness, moves, and handle, Peterson was often beating his man to score it well all around the paint as well as pulling up in the mid-range. Much more than just a scorer, he was one of the better defenders at the 12U level as a tough on ball defender with his great energy collecting several steals in just one game. He also distributed the ball very well on the attack as a good passer off the dribble who looks to distribute it out.

Grayson Ring – PG – Davis Brothers Elite

Ring shined in multiple games and this was especially true while scoring 29 points in a single game. The point guard showed his ability to score it from all three levels while excelling playing on the attack creating for himself. He was consistently beating defenders off the dribble with his good moves to get into the mid-range and hit pullup jumpers at a high percentage but also finish in traffic around the paint. Ring showed an advanced scoring ability by hitting contest pullup jumpers and turn around jumpers.
