One more group of standouts from the 13U level of the Generation Next Invitational with part 4 of the standouts.

Quentin Atkins – F – Team Hali Speights

In his teams run to the championship game, Atkins was one of the better interior scorers at the 13U level. He has some size and plays even bigger with his strength. Whether it was on dump offs, put backs, or posting up, Atkins scored he on a high percentage of his post touches while also being able to drive to the basket. Defensively, the forward also played well both in the paint as well as on the perimeter.

Devin Moore – F/C – Closed Gyms

As a player with still a year more in middle school, Moore already has great size and length. With his he was an impactful big man in the paint on both ends, especially on the defensive side, to have a couple of impressive wins during this tournament. Moore still moves well at his size covering plenty of ground inside defensively being a real paint protector. Offensively, he showed good touch finishing inside scoring on put backs and dump offs.

William Senger – F/C – Wisconsin Blizzard

As well to having some size and a solid build, Senger also showed a well-rounded and growing game plus a big motor. As part of all the depth and talent on this championship team, the post was able to score it efficiently as well to being very aggressive on the glass rebounding at a high rate. Senger was effective playing in the pick and roll, both finishing on these as well as being a facilitator on short rolls. The powerful post also scored it well inside on put backs and dump offs.

Landon Schmitz – G – Team Herro National

In a tight pool play victory, Schmitz got off to a very hot start with his outside shooting. In just the first few minutes of play, the guard knocked down three threes to get an early lead. While he made his biggest impact with his shooting, the guard was also able to score it well getting to the basket on drives and in transition handling the ball well.

Sawyer Sixel – G – Chapman North

Sixel can quickly get hot with his outside shooting ability. This was especially the case in a win to finish off an undefeated pool play record by the guard. In this game he led a scoring run of his own with 8 points over just a few possessions. This was with hitting a pair of threes to build the lead up for the win. He finished that game with three threes shooting the ball at a high percentage with his smooth jumper.

Desean Taylor – G/F – Team Hali Johnikin

Taylor shined in a quarterfinals game, especially making some key plays down the stretch of a close matchup. In this game Taylor was able to score 17 points. Taylor can really shoot the basketball hitting three threes just in the second half including a pair of clutch ones in the final five minutes. More than a shooter, Taylor also plays well with the ball in his hands getting into the paint in addition to being a tough and energetic defender.
