The depth of the 13U was unreal at the Generation Next Invitational as move onto the next group of standouts who all had big weekends at the tournament.

Paris Billups – G – Team Hali Johnikin

Billups was consistently making plays when he was on the court. Whether it was with his scoring, distributing, or defensive play. This included scoring 9 points in just the first half of his first game. He scored it efficiently going to the basket both on drives and cuts but also hit a few threes during the tournament. Billups played very active defensively both when on the ball being tough to beat with his lateral quickness as well as in the passing lanes for steals.

WyKeen Fields – SF – Team Herro National

The highly active play of Fields helped this Team Herro team to a pair of wins on Saturday. He plays hard along with having some size and quickness. Fields is an aggressive rebounder as well to being a versatile defender matching up with both guards and forwards well. The wing forward scored it well getting out in transition as well as in the half court playing inside including using his size to post up.

Brandon Lowe – PG – Team Hali Speights

The play of Lowe was a big reason why his team made it all the way to the championship game. This was especially the case in a one-point bracket play game where he hit the game winning three off the dribble in the final minute. He also scored it well on the attack getting into the paint often. Lowe impressed even more with his ability to create for others. He plays quick with the ball with shifty moves and has an advanced ability to read the floor and facilitate it on the attack.

Grayson McHenry – F – ABC Young Lions

McHenry is a highly impactful forward who has good size and strength along with a growing game. His impact was highlighted by his rebounding ability as he was able to take over the offensive glass being just too big and physical. He also defended the paint well while also being able to defend on the perimeter too. Offensively, McHenry was an efficient interior scorer but can also handle the ball attacking the basket.

Kzaveon Pittman – F/C – 24UP P32

Pittman was highly impactful inside the paint on both ends of the floor. He has some size already at 6’2” along with a strong build and plays very active. Pittman was a true paint protector moving well all around the paint blocking shots, deterring drivers, and shutting down opposing big men. On the offensive side, he scored it very effectively inside finishing through contact including multiple and one plays in a single game.

Duke Stewart – G – ALL IN E32

Stewart is a skilled guard who showed a variety of tools over the course of multiple games in this tournament. He moves well with the ball in his hands, can run the point, and does a good job reading the defense and being able to quickly attack the gaps. He made some good passes both pushing the ball in transition as well as hitting cutters. Stewart scored it effectively himself on the attack finishing at the basket or with his floater but also hit some threes. The guard also plays actively defensively on the ball.

Gordon Zastrow – PG – Chapman North

Over the course of multiple games, Zastrow showed a good ability on both sides of the ball. While he did score it efficiently on his drives, he impressed more as a facilitator. The point guard plays strong with the ball in his hands and really looks to distribute the ball on the attack while showing good vision. He is also a very energetic and quick defender making plenty of plays on this side. This included three blocks out on the perimeter in a single game along with a couple of steals.
