Plenty more to cover from the 13U level of the Generation Next Invitational with part two of the standouts.

Angel Garcia – SG – Chapman North

Garcia is a high energy guard who also showed a good scoring ability. This was especially the case in scoring 11 points just in the second half of a win to help them go undefeated in pool play. He was effective scoring going to the basket scoring on curl cuts, drives, floaters, as well to hitting a three in this scoring outburst. His energy was shown especially with his aggressive rebounding on both ends and active defensive play.

Elliot Johnson – F/C – Team Hali Johnikin

Johnson played big in the paint on both ends of the floor. As well to already being 6’3”, he also has good length. With his physical tools and aggressive play on the glass, he was one of the top rebounders of the tournament grabbing everything near him at both ends of the floor. He was also a big prescience defensively inside as a shot blocker. Johnson was effective scoring it both finishing it from around the basket as well on drives.

Emmett Kelley – F – Wisconsin Blizzard Henry Ice

As well to being a forward with some size, Kelley also showed a high skill level including his ability making plays off the dribble on his way to helping the Blizzard win the championship. The forward shot it well from the outside both off the dribble and catch. On the attack, Kelley scored it strong getting to the basket as well as being able to hit shots pulling up in the mid-range. Kelley also showed the ability to distribute it out on the attack. As well, he used his size to be tough inside and rebound it well on both ends.

Marcus Mlachnik – G – 24UP P32

Over his play in multiple games getting to the semifinals, the guard proved to be one of the top shooters at the 13U level. From both the outside or pulling up in the mid-range, Mlachnik showcased his pure jumper. In multiple games, he drilled three or more threes but also showed his ability to handle the ball getting to his spots in the mid-range and to the basket.

Teddy Rebholz – G/F – Closed Gym

Rebholz was one of the more versatile and impactful players at the 13U level. He has some size on the wings along with being able to run the point as well as play tough inside with some physicality. He showed his scoring ability with 10 points in the second half of a tight pool play game. Rebholz scored it very effectively on the attack with some strong drives and being able to handle the ball well in addition to hitting some mid-range jumpers.

Camden Schaefer – G/F – Davis Brothers Elite

As well to scoring 14 points in a win, Schaefer also showed his ability to do a bit of everything. He is an energetic wing who plays hard making a ton of plays throughout this win. This included multiple steals and deflections with his active play in the passing lanes, being a primary ball handler, and scoring versatility. Schaefer was effective scoring it going strong to the basket, spotting up for threes, and posting up inside.

Caden Sommerfield – G – Wisconsin Blizzard Mader

The combo guard was very effective both on and off the ball. While he can run the point well, Sommerfield is also a good spot up shooter including hitting three threes in a pool play game. He plays quick with the ball in his hands with good moves getting into the paint often and facilitating it.

Royce Watson – PG – ABC Young Lions

The play of Watson was a big reason for a win on Saturday. This was with his playmaking ability on both sides of the ball. This included being an active defender both getting steals on the ball and in the passing lanes as well to multiple deflections. He is a true point guard who has some size. He moves well with the ball with tight handle both scoring and distributing it on the attack as well to hitting a three in this win.
