On Tuesday, Jaxon Clark of MidPro Academy and Keokuk High School (IA) made his college commitment. The 6’10” center announced his pick of Colorado State. In his senior season, Clark averaged 27.9 points, 17.8 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 2 blocks per game to be named 3A first team all-state.

“The main things I liked about Colorado State were how the coaching staff carried themselves, they are extremely likable and they truly care about their athletes on and off of the court,” Clark said about his choice. “It fits not only my playstyle, but my personality as well. It is very rare to hit the jackpot on a spot especially in this landscape of college basketball. I felt like I was still at home and all of the facilities and campus was incredible. They also had a goal in mind for me, and how I can help impact the game with them. It had every piece of the puzzle needed for me to make that decision.”

The commitment comes after Clark just made the trip out west to Fort Collins on Monday and Tuesday of this week. “The visit was phenomenal. They welcomed me with open arms and told and showed me everything with transparency.” Clark is joining a program that will be joining the new Pac-12 conference for next season. This past season, the Rams went 21-13 and made it to the NIT.

Clark selected Colorado State over several other division one programs coming from around the country. These included Bowling Green, Manhattan, Southern Utah, St. Bonaventure, and UTSA who had also offered him. “Size and skillset that is not as common in big men,” is what Clark said he can bring to the college level.
