Here are some of the top performers from this weekends NY2LA Sports Invitational who made the greatest impact at the 17U level.

Tyson Busch – 2027 – PG – Racine Truth

During a 4-0 tournament for the Racine Truth, Busch proved to be one of the top guards of the tournament. He consistently scored the ball efficiently as well to showing a very good ability to run the point. This included scoring 20 points in a 5 point win on Saturday. All tournament Busch was playing smart with the ball in his hands reading the whole floor and even as a gifted scorer was looking to distribute it out too. He passed it very well with tight passes right through heavy traffic as well as a full court on target assist in the final minute to seal a win. As well, Busch also rebounded the ball well as a guard consistently being active on the glass.

Jayce Cook – 2027 – G – 24UP

Cook was one of the top shooters and scorers of the tournament helping 24UP to a 4-0 record. This included a pair of 18-point games. In each of these games, Cook knocked down four threes with good range hon his jumper and a quick release as a very  high percentage shooter. The high IQ 6’2” guard also showed improved ability playing stronger with the ball as well as being a facilitator with it.

Khader Diabate – 2027 – PG – Gxfted Elite

Diabate has been a key to all the success of Gxfted Elite this spring and continued into this tournament where he helped his team to a 4-0 record. Whether it was with his scoring or creating for others, the point guard is a highly skilled playmaker with the ball in his hands. He consistently was able to get all the way to the basket in addition to shooting it well in the mid-range. Along with his great burst of quickness and handle, Diabate also does a very good job of changing direction to be an elusive guard getting wherever he wants with the ball.

Zeak Jones – 2027 – SG – Team Hali

Throughout the entire tournament, Jones was one of the top scorers leading his team to a 4-0 record. This started with a 20-point game in his first game, and he kept on scoring it well from there. He then followed that up with a 16-point game. Whether it was getting all the way to the rim finishing through contact, creating his own shot in the mid-range, or spotting up from three with his smooth jumper, Jones is a pure scorer who can beat defends in so many ways. All tournament, Jones shot the ball at a very high percentage as he continues to prove he’s one of the top shot makers in Wisconsin’s 2027 class. Along with his elevated offensive skill set, he has good positional size at 6’4” too. He holds several division one offers including recently being offered by Northern Illinois.

Will Krueger – 2027 – SG – Wisconsin Legends

Krueger has multiple standout games throughout the tournament. This included ones with 24 points, then 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, another with 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists, and one with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Throughout the tournament, Krueger showcased his great shot making from the outside which included hitting four threes in a single half. At 6’5”, the wing guard can get his shot off with ease at all times along with having good range. While a great shooter, there is much more to his game as Krueger is also a highly bouncy wing who had some good takes all the way to the rim and utilized his length effectively to finish around defenders.

Danny Morakinyo – 2027 – SG – Lockdown

Morakinyo had one of the most impressive games of the tournament on Sunday in a tight game. Not only did he score an efficient 18 points but also distributed the ball effectively as he was playing very unselfish looking to distribute the ball too. Especially in the first half, the 6’2” guard was hitting everything both from the outside as well as getting into the mid-range. In the game, Morakinyo hit four threes being able to shoot it well off the dribble as well using his strength for an aggressive and one drive to the basket. He was also very actively defensively with steals both on the ball and in the passing lanes.

Terrell Moss – 2026 – G/F – Team NAF

Throughout the tournament, Moss was a highly impactful player on both sides of the ball. He showed his ability to score it with an 18-point game but also be a big playmaker on the defensive side. The senior did the bulk of his scoring on the attack using both his long strides as well as some physicality to get to the rim often. With his highly active defensive play, the 6’3” wing also had 5 steals in a single game as well to being a tough on ball defender.

Will Stremlow – 2027 – G – Wisconsin Swing

Stremlow had one of the top games of the tournament where he led the Swing to a dominant win while scoring 21 points, including 17 points in just the first half. He has a good combination of positional size as a 6’4” combo guard, versatile scoring ability, and athleticism. Stremlow has continued to show his versatile scoring ability as he can really shoot the ball from three but also played strong on the attack getting to the rim for multiple and one finishes. He also scored with his energy, sprinting in from the perimeter to beat everyone to a rebound for a put back basket. This was in addition to showing his bounce with a dunk off a cut.
